Synthesizing established garage rock tropes, idiosyncratic lyrical fixations, and a lethal dose of false confidence only produced by early-twentysomethings, QUICK PISS is a parodic and celebratory incarnation of rock ‘n’ roll. The thirteen songs that populate the band’s debut LP ROCK ‘N’ ROLL IMPOTENCE sound like growing pains: as if these young Des Moines rockers are propositioned with the full embrace of adulthood but not completely ready to give up their salad days just yet. Imagine the juvenile viscera of FIDLAR in a tug-of-war with the brainy sensibilities of Parquet Courts. At most, the band will provoke thoughts of Bavarian exploits and Southside dread while embroiling them in a scuzzy embarrassment of riches. At least, they could be the soundtrack to your glory days as a keg stand champion. Either way, enjoy yourself. Growing up may be tough, but it’s pretty fun, too.
Quick Piss formed during the spring of 2013 in Des Moines, IA, at a time when the band members' ages ranged from 16-18. All of them have been friends since middle and high school, and have been active in the local Des Moines music scene since ages 13-15. Musically speaking, they were born and raised at Vaudeville Mews, an influential and long-standing music venue on 4th Street in Des Moines. Quick Piss live and are from Des Moines, IA, but a few of them attend college in other states; Stone at The Evergreen State College in Olympia, WA and Luke at University of Denver in Denver, CO
The band has had the pleasure of opening for such notable acts as Surfer Blood, Andrew W.K., and Wavves, and they're looking forward to touring in winter/summer of next year.
